To Paint A Picture

If I could paint a picture,
what colors would I use?
So many from the rainbow,
it seems impossible to choose!

A dash of pink,
some shades of green.
Bring to life,
my love, my dream.

Mix and swirl
to birth my art
spin my brush in a whirl

the colors mix
and the colors bleed
and from the tip my colors lead

Soon though they'll fade
and soon they'll smudge grey
but that's another day, not today...

And so I shall paint
with no shackles or restraints.

And with time against me
shall I let my colors flee.

For art shall set me free.

Tis shall it also be the end of me.
